Olympic Golf at Paris 2024 – One Year Away!
In a year’s time, golf enthusiasts from around the world will witness a historic event as 120 of the best golfers, comprising 60 men and 60 women, gather at the renowned Le Golf National to compete in the much-anticipated Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Located just southwest of Paris and a short 15-minute drive from the majestic Palace of Versailles, Le Golf National is no stranger to hosting prestigious international competitions. Having already successfully organized the 2018 Ryder Cup and the Open de France on the DP World Tour 28 times, the course has proven itself as a worthy stage for golf’s elite.
Golf’s inclusion in the Olympics is relatively recent, with its return to the roster of events in 2016 after a staggering absence of 112 years. The upcoming Olympic Games in Paris will mark just the fifth time men and the fourth time women will vie for the coveted gold, silver, and bronze medals.
The competition at Le Golf National’s Albatros Course, thoughtfully designed by Hubert Chesneau and Robert Von Hagge, promises to be both intense and challenging. The men’s stroke-play event is scheduled for August 1-4, 2024, while the women’s tournament will take place from August 7-10, 2024.
Participation in the Olympic Golf Games is a significant honour and privilege for athletes. The players who qualify are selected based on the Olympic Golf Rankings, which are derived from the Official World Golf Ranking. The top 15 male and top 15 female players from around the globe earn their spots in the Games, with a restriction of four players from a single country.
