Victorious Start: Golf Haryana’s Golden Greens Amateur & Junior Tournaments

Golf Haryana, the official body for golf in the state, marked a historic milestone with the successful launch of their inaugural event, the Golf Haryana Golden Greens Amateur and Junior Tournaments, held from August 17 to 20, 2023, at the prestigious Golden Greens Golf Club in Gurugram, Haryana.

The tournament witnessed a spectacular display of skill and sportsmanship, featuring 39 talented participants from across the state of Haryana.

The event, which aimed to promote golf at the grassroots level and nurture young talent, encompassed a range of categories including Junior Boys & Girls Events, as well as Amateur Men’s and Ladies Events. The diversity of competitions added to the excitement, with participants competing across multiple categories based on age and skill level.

In the Ladies and Men categories, along with Girls and Boys (A&B) categories, competitors engaged in a rigorous 54-Hole challenge, showcasing their prowess across three days of intense play. Meanwhile, Boys and Girls (C&D) categories played 36-Holes, and Boys and Girls (E) category engaged in an 18-Hole contest.

One of the standout moments of the event was Tushar Pannu’s exceptional performance in the Men’s Amateur Event. Pannu displayed extraordinary consistency and determination, finishing with a total score of 214, and an impressive 8 under par on the final day. Pannu’s remarkable performance secured him the title, while Yash Suhag and Mirajul Dildaar claimed the first and second runners-up awards respectively.

In the Ladies Amateur and Girls (A&B) categories, Prarthana Khanna emerged as a true star, clinching victory with a total score of 219. Her consistent performance across various categories highlighted her versatility and skill on the greens. Anvvi Dahhiya and Palakshi Singh secured the first and second runners-up positions in these categories.

The tournament also celebrated the triumph of young golfers across the Boys and Girls (A-E) categories. Kritansh Kapoor, Vivaan Monga, Vivaan Rai Singh, Aayush Kataria, and Reyansh Ahlawat showcased their remarkable potential by emerging as winners in their respective categories.

The young female golfers exhibited exceptional talent as well, with Smira Bhambri, Padam Vibhuti, and Unnati Singh emerging victorious in the Girls (C), Girls (D), and Girls (E) categories respectively.

The Golf Haryana Golden Greens Amateur and Junior Tournaments not only showcased the talent and dedication of the participants but also highlighted Golf Haryana’s commitment to fostering the growth of golf in the region. The event provided a platform for players of all ages and skill levels to come together and share their passion for the sport, setting a strong precedent for future tournaments.
